Last week I was in Northern California shooting. On the road to one of the locations, I came across some cows gathered at the edge of the fence near a gate. It must have been close to either feeding for moving to another pasture. For as dumb as cows are, they are great with routines. I spent a couple of minutes shooting them. As soon as I approached, they took this classic defensive position to protect the herd. I can’t help but to love cows. Having a family history of dairy farmers in Wisconsin growing up around farms, cows bring back memories of visiting my Grandparent’s farm helping with the milking, tilling the fields, scooping shit…
